Fragrance Oil - Roman Chamomile 10ml

Fresh and soft apple scent from Roman chamomile

Essential oil from Roman chamomile, Anthemis nobilis, is extracted through steam distillation from the flowers. The oil is light blue when fresh and can also be extracted from the upper parts of the plant. Roman chamomile is an evergreen plant with a fresh apple scent and is mainly grown in France, Belgium, and Eastern Europe.

Roman chamomile is valued for its soft and calming character and is suitable for relaxing aromatic blends as well as mild skincare. It has traditionally been used in diluted solutions, aroma diffusers, and various wellness routines.

The traditional use of chamomile goes back thousands of years to the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. The Egyptians dedicated it to the sun god. A papyrus document from 2800 BC describes the use of chamomile in skincare. Chamomile oil was also used in embalming. Hippocrates, the great Greek physician, is said to have used chamomile as an herb. In mythology, chamomile is one of the nine sacred herbs that, according to the story, were given by Wodan, the god of the underworld, to humans to improve their lives.

Consult an expert before using the oil on children or infants.
