Intense niaouli scent with a camphoraceous and earthy character

Niaouli essential oil from Melaleuca viridiflora originates from Indonesia and is extracted through steam distillation of leaves and twigs. The oil is not the most fragrant essential oil, but what it lacks in aromatic appeal is described as being compensated for by its therapeutic benefits. It is associated with use for respiratory issues, skin infections, and acne.

The scent is camphoraceous, earthy, and somewhat sharp. It is not a good idea to form an opinion about the scent of an essential oil by simply smelling it directly from the bottle.

The oil is associated with the circulation of blood and lymph and is said to help counteract the accumulation of uric acid in the joints and provide warmth to various parts of the body. It is also associated with use for rheumatism, arthritis, and gout.
