Bergamot essential oil is extracted by cold pressing the fruit peel of the bergamot orange tree. This essential oil has a citrusy yet sweet scent and is appreciated in aromatherapy for creating a relaxed and harmonious feeling.

Bergamot oil is a favorite in aromatherapy and is used in diffusers, vaporizers, massages, and in bathwater. It has long been used in the perfume and food industries, among other things as the characteristic flavor in Earl Grey tea. The fruit and its essence have been used in traditional medicine for hundreds of years.

This oil is FCF (furocoumarin-free), which means that the substances that can otherwise make bergamot oil phototoxic have been removed. Experts still advise caution on sensitive skin when exposed to sunlight after application.
