Citronella oil is steam distilled from the leaves and stems of the Cymbopogon species, primarily Cymbopogon Winterianus. Citronella essential oil is known as a plant-based insect repellent and a biopesticide with a non-toxic mechanism of action, and has been registered for this purpose in the United States since 1948. The leading producer countries are Indonesia and China, which together produce approximately 40% of the world's citronella essential oil.

In addition to its use as an insect repellent for the skin, the oil is valued in skincare for oily skin and hair, as well as a deodorant.

Avoid use during pregnancy and on children under 3 years of age. Do not ingest.
